Kathy's Story

Kathy and her husband went to the beach one day. He stopped the van to allow his wife to take items out of the back. He heard the van door closed and did not see that his wife was still next to the van when he backed up and ran over her leg. Needless to say, this was a very difficult case.

At the time of the accident, Kathy's insurance agent forgot to cancel an insurance policy on an old vehicle that she had sold. Therefore, she had insurance on the vehicle that she currently owned and also had insurance on a car that she previously had sold.

We were able to successfully argue the fact that she had two policies available to her, not just one, and we were able to obtain twice the amount of money for her that she would have been able to receive had the insurance company insisted that there was only coverage on one vehicle. We were also able to reduce claimed liens for medical bills that were owed for Kathy's care and treatment.
