This is a very important question and the answer can be found in our latest video in this week's edition of our "HCW: How Can We?" Youtube series. If you follow the instructions in this video then your doctor can develop a treatment plan for you, which will help you get better quicker, and it can also help increase the value of your CT accident or injury case.
There are a number of things that you should be doing when you go to see your doctor for your accident-related medical challenges. The first thing you should do is make a very detailed list of all of your accident-related injuries, restrictions, challenges, problems, and any issues you are experiencing as a result of your injuries. This detailed list will provide the doctor with a great deal of information that can be utilized to develop a treatment program for you.
It is important when you are describing your pain complaints that you are very detailed. You do not want to say that your back hurts but rather indicate something like the following: I have a sharp pain between my shoulder blades that radiates out my shoulders and down my arms and into my fingers; I have a dull pain in my low back; I have a stabbing pain, or an aching pain or a burning pain in my mid-back which radiates down into my legs; or any other specific pain or problems which you are experiencing.
You should also write down all of the questions that you have regarding your situation, your treatment, your injuries, and what you need to do to get better. All of these questions should be asked of your doctor after you talk about all of your accident-related problems.
You should also bring a healthcare advocate with you to each appointment. That can be a family member or a friend who will act as a supporting individual, assisting you in writing down the answers to any questions that you have and can help to ask questions if any of the information is unclear.
If you utilize these suggestions and follow the instructions contained in this blog post and in the video then you will assist the doctor in helping you to develop a treatment plan whereby you can get better as quickly as possible and all of this information should make its way into your medical records which will help to increase the value of your case.
