RICHARD P. HASTINGS
Mr. Hastings concentrates his practice on civil and criminal litigation, real estate and business representation.
He has collected millions of dollars for his clients in cases including motor vehicle accidents, defective products, wrongful death, dog bite incidents, general accident cases, slip and fall incidents, breach of contract claims, unfair trade practice cases, construction litigation, will contests, and general litigation matters.
Mr. Hastings is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum which is one of the most prestigous groups of trial lawyers in the U.S. The membership is limited to attorneys who have won million dollar verdicts or settlements. Less than 1% of all lawyers in the country are members.
Mr. Hastings also has extensive business and commercial experience and represents businesses, consultants, trading companies, mortgage brokers, banks, manufacturers, retail establishments, restaurants and numerous service industry clients. He has assisted inventors and start-up companies and prepares memoranda for raising venture capital. Mr. Hastings is also a respected real estate investor who utilizes cutting edge strategies for the maximization of profits and the minimization of tax liabilities. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of a number of corporations, is involved in numerous general partnerships and serves as legal counsel to countless others.
Mr. Hastings is trained as a mediator by Harvard Law School and the Center for Mediation in Law. Mr. Hastings has also received advanced negotiation training through Harvard Law School and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association's Pro Bono School Expulsion Project. Mr. Hastings holds the title of Distinguished Toastmaster from Toastmasters International, its highest designation. He is involved in a number of philanthropic endeavors, has held board positions in a number of charitable organizations and has received a number of governmental appointments. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Dream Come True which fulfills the wishes of the seriously, chronically and terminally ill children.
He was named a recipient of The National Republican Congressional Committee's prestigious Businessman of the Year Award. Mr. Hastings is the author of "How to Find a Great Lawyer", "How to Explode Your Practice", "Understanding and Improving the Value of Your Personal Injury Case", "The Crash Course on Personal Injury Claims in Connecticut", "The Crash Course on Motorcycle Accident Claims in Connecticut", "The Crash Course Child Injury Cases in Connecticut", "What You Need to Know About Connecticut DUI" and workbooks for each of the prior books, i.e., "The Workbook for The Crash Course on Personal Injury Cases in Connecticut".
Mr. Hastings is a graduate of the University of Connecticut (Business Administration) and Fordham University School of Law. He grew up in Ridgefield and attended a number of its local schools. He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Associations. He resides in Ridgefield with his wife, Diana and their children, Alexandra, Kathryn, and Zachary. His hobbies include: attending motivational seminars; golf; fishing; hiking, meditation and riding his Harley.
GEORGE M. COHAN
George M. Cohan has practiced law in Ridgefield for more than 30 years. He has represented thousands of individuals in matters ranging from residential closings, commercial closings, refinances, builder representation, 1031 exchanges and investor representation. He is a sophisticated real estate attorney and investor.
Mr. Cohan was born in Brooklyn, New York and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in 1972. He received his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshal Law School in 1975 and was admitted to the Connecticut Bar the same year. He immediately began practicing real estate law and has been doing so in Ridgefield ever since.
Mr. Cohan is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and lives in Ridgefield with his wife Judy and their daughters Katie and Megan.
PATRICK J. WALSH
Patrick J. Walsh is a life-long resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University (Summa Cum Laude) and his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law (Cum Laude).
Mr. Walsh is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the New York Bar Association.
Mr. Walsh concentrates his practice in general civil and criminal litigation including commercial and personal injury litigation, commercial and residential real estate; landlord tenant issues, trusts and estates, probate administration, and business planning.
Mr. Walsh is a member of the Ridgefield Planning and Zoning Commission and on Board of Directors for The International Institute for Injury Prevention Inc., a Non-profit Corporation. Patrick lives in Ridgefield with his wife, Kathleen, and their three daughters.
